My boss wants me to develop an e-commerce web application so that he could start selling stuffs over the internet. While there are paid services out there like that of paypal and yahoo’s own merchant service, we would like to try out free e-commerce solution like phpCart and osCommerce. I want to know which is better in terms of:

1. Which is more easy to configure/install?
2. Which is more dependable or more stable?
3. Which is more secure?
4. Which one can easilty integrate with most payment gateway.
5. How about level of customization? Which package gives me the most freedom in terms of cuztomizing look and feel of the store front.
