rainwriterm asked:

This doesn’t directly relate to baby wearing, but I figure that those who do may be able to give me the insight that I am looking for. I keep hearing that it is perfectly safe to clip infant seats onto the fold down portion of the shopping cart. The reasoning is that since the car seats have a clipping mechanism, it is safe. I thought that the clipping mechanism on the infant seats is for clipping onto the bars in the base of the seat or onto the stroller that came with the travel system. Since these bars are so much thicker than those on shopping carts, I don’t see how this is safe. Just because it DOES clip doesn’t mean that it SHOULD.

So, help me out here. Is this actually safe? Some say that their manuals say that it is safe and that is how to do it, but I haven’t been able to find any. What can you share with me?

Wyatts mama asked:

My son is 4 1/2 months and I still carry him into the store in his carseat and put the carseat in the cart. But he is getting so heavy that I can’t do it anymore! I have to park beside a cart, get out of the car, put him in it then proceed into the store. At what age was you able to just carry him into the store and set him in the front of the cart? I can pack him on my hip already (excellent head control but obviosly can’t sit up yet).. I need a solution. I do all my shopping alone and don’t really have a choice on that matter and I can’t carry him on my hip and push a cart… What was your shopping system.
I have a carrier but it’s so uncomfortable and difficult to get on and off and get him into it without assistance and a mirror lol.. Perhaps it’s just cheap lol. Anyone suggest a nice, comfortable and easy to get on and off carrier?
