Should the United States totally get rid of our welfare system?
lakecity21 asked:
I think we should totally eliminate welfare in the United States. The only exception is that it should be like unemployment. You should have to put into to get it. I do realize that anybody could get sick, injured, or lose their job through no fault of their own. In this case then we should have a system that provides assistance just like unemployment meaning if you don’t work and don’t have credits in the system you don’t collect.
For lunch I usually go to this food stamp grocery store near my work because they have some really good hot ready made lunches for $5.00. However, I always stand in line behind somebody that has a cart full of groceries that is paying for it with a welfare card. They obviously don’t have jobs because they wouldn’t be grocery shopping at that time of day.
I am single and support myself with no help from anybody. Why should I have to pay for somebody who is uneducated, lazy, and pops out kids to have free food, free rent, and whatever else for free? I don’t get free food, I don’t get anything for free, and I have to pay out of my *** every month for rent so I don’t have to live by these people. Why?
What ever happen to the belief that if you can’t afford kids you don’t have them? Is it fair that the parents who support their own kids or don’t have kids have to support other people’s kids too?
Yeah, I do live in a gated community! People on welfare can’t afford to live here so it is nice and quiet.

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. You might think you are intelligent but you are far from it. You have been brainwashed more than you could ever imagine but you are not alone 90% of your country are enslaved.
.
$500billion of u.s. taxpayers money is spent on military exercises each year.
$165billion for so called ‘war on terrorism’ on average 60 americans are killed each year from terrorism internationally, (twice as many die from peanut allergies solely in the u.s.)
The leading cause of death in america is coronary heart disease killing approx. 450,000 each year and the governments allocation was $3bn
The government spent 54 times more ($165bn) preventing terrorism when heart disease kills 6,600 times more people.
You want to leave a bunch of disenfranchised people with no ability to support themselves whatsoever?
Boy, I hope you live in a gated community buddy. You think crime is bad now, wait until you take away the ability for the poor to feed and house themselves.
Taking away welfare without putting anything in it’s place would be an extremely brainless and short sighted thing to do. It’s almost laughable that you would suggest such a thing. I really hope you’re a troll because otherwise this is clear evidence that our education system is failing beyond belief.
edit. Oh really? Must be nice to wall yourself off from the great unwashed. How Christ-like of you.
What ever happen to the belief that if you can’t afford kids you don’t have them?
That belief never existed. The way anyone not rich looks at it is if you don’t have anything to look forward to, then why should you wait to have a family? Only people who have ambition and/or career goals ask that question that you asked. This is why you want everyone to go to college and get a good job. Very few college graduates want a large family or very soon.
In the meantime, if poor are given no money or help by the government, then they still have just as many children. The children just have a lower life expectancy.
It is the problem and basic difference between poor and rich nations. A very hotly studied problem. There are millions of studies detailing what I’ve just stated.
I completely agree!
Poor people should live by what they can actually afford. Not have uncle Sam steal money away from hard working people and give it to them.
If they can’t afford healthcare then why don’t they try to stay healthy and minimize their risk. Everyone before the past 100 years did. Instead you see lots of poor people who are obese because they drink lots of soda at mcdonalds
Apparently Obama is increasing all of this crap because the majority of black people are poor and he wants to help them
