What stitch is this?
Cynthia B asked:
What kind of stitches are used in these bikinis? I am also interested in the bottom pattern as well. http://sf2000.registeredsite.com/~user1230411/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PRODStore_Code=OTHBProduct_Code=SBBCategory_Code=2PB, http://sf2000.registeredsite.com/~user1230411/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PRODStore_Code=OTHBProduct_Code=Goddessthongbikini, http://offthehookbikinis.blogspot.com (with Strawberry Shortcake, Dreamcatcher (is the bottom a laced stitch?) and Copper *** Pot as the subject) and there are a few others. This is for crochet only. Thanks!

The first bikini is made using crochet cotton and a double crochet. The V is formed by skipping 2 of the double crochets at the bottom of the V.
The second link gave a fatal error
The Strawberry Shortcake is made with chain stitches connected with single crochets and a shell stitch (2 double crochet- ch 2 -2double crochet) along the sides
The Dreamcatcher is again made up of simple chain stitches connected with shell stitches. The centre dreamcatcher is comprised of chains and single crochets.
The stitches that are used through out any of the designs are treble and chain stitch. Some are 3 treble in a chain of 5 stitches joined to make a circle which make the flower effect and ruffle.
You were right they are all crochet.
I’m not certain about the stitches but the suits certainly are interesting…
At first I thought the top one was what we call treble in OZ but Americans call double crochet. Now I’m not so sure. I think it’s too dense for that so probably what I’d call half treble and the the Americans would call half double crochet.
