Say the online store is not a brick mortar business but strictly an ecommerce business, are returns mailed directly to their homes or a PO box? What are their options besides PO boxes?

Assuming you use a dropshipping service, you do not want you customers knowing where or who your distributors are. Therefore, you would handle the return as the address you provided to the dropshipper is on the shipping label or receipt when the product was sent to your customer. You would have to contact the dropshipper/distributor in order to process the return, and you would have to recredit/refund your customer’s credit card once the return process is complete. Hope this helps.
I wish you the best of luck in all your business ventures.
