i was thinking that if i had the same software i might be able to do it. is that right?

No, that’s not right.
Web sites are not based on a specific software package. It’s not like you can install it somewhere and make changed. Sites are designed with a number of technologies: HTML, CSS and JavaScript on the client side (what is rendered in the browser directly) and scripting and database coding on the back end (which runs on the web server side). The scripting part is the actual site application programming around which shopping carts and other canned site packages are built. You still need to do additional programming to customize it, and you need to be able to have your code access a relational database (such as MySQL or SQL Server) on the server side, since that’s where all the product data is maintained.
What your developer needs to do (and has possibly already designed in) is some set of web-based forms that allow you to add or delete items from your product data. This should be pretty straightforward: just a series of web forms that you open in your browser and fill in the blanks. For changes or deletions, you should be able to select an item from a table and delete ot completely or make changes to it.
None of this should require any more than a web browser on your end.
if you can program go on

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex:). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.
